The purpose of this blog is to encourage the students, teachers and parents of Sterling Park Elementary to read the Sunshine State Young Readers Award nominees for 2009-2010. I hope it also encourages students to share their opinions and recommendations in writing with all our followers.

ReplyDeleteI loved this book! It was amazingly funny. I thought the characters were a lot like the students in my own class. I think my absolute favorite character was Tommy “Tarantula” Santangelo, the school bully. He stood up for Ashley Z. and really showed that everyone feels left out/hurt sometimes, even the 5th grade bully. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to laugh. :o)

ReplyDeleteI like this because it's ful of humor. These students are full of funny adventures. My favorite is Humphery. He has an appetite for sweets and learn health foods are good food.My favorite part was almost all of it and it's so hard to choose. So this book is very funny.
Thanks for blogging, Chris and Ms. McDarby! I think other readers will really enjoy this book, too! Ms. Wells

ReplyDeletei like this because of its humor.lil was my favorite student. the poetry she recited was beautiful.the most funny part was when they put a nose ring on one of the students on picture day.
Josh/4/Sterling Park Elem./Casselberry FL I wonder how those kids passed 3rd grade . Everyone except Stanford, I know he passed the third grade easily. This book was one of the best I've ever read. I loved all the humor in it. My favorite character was Mr. Jupiter. My favorite parts were when Mr. Jupiter took attendance and everyone said they were absent. My other favorite part was when Mr.Kinderschmacker came in. It was hilarious!

ReplyDeleteI agree with Josh, I wonder how those crazy kids passed third grade? This is a fantastic book for all ages, and I think "The Fabled Fourth Graders of Aesop Elementary" will definitely be a favorite in the voting at the end of the year. And if it doesn't win, I have a feeling it will certainly be nominated again for some other award. My favorite character is Miss Turner. I thought it was so funny when she was teetering around in those high heels. My other favorite character is Ernest. It was cool how he crocheted, but I felt bad for him when everyone found out that he couldn't swim, because he had lied to his classmates. My favorite part was when Victoria blew her stinky breath at everyone because she didn't believe them when everyone was saying it smelled bad.
I think that the little morals at the end of each chapter definitely help readers with their everyday life. I know they definitely helped me!
"The Fabled Fourth Graders of Aesop Elementary" is a funny, helpful, hilarious, and amazingly wonderful. It will definitely be a book I will recommend to someone with nothing but positive comments. There's just absolutely nothing bad about it!

ReplyDeleteThis is a really good book. I think some of the kids in this book you can't find in this school, then again you can find some kids in this book in our school. I think Mr. Jupiter is so funny and a great teacher. This book is really great. I agree with Matthew every chapter was a mini story on every kid. I think Ervin should of been himself. How do you know if some likes you as a friend when you are not yourself. You never get true friends. Everything in this book is great. I couldn't put this book down. I like how the book explaains every person in their own little chapter. At the end I think Mr. Jupiter's heart grew even bigger than before.
I really think this book is one of the best ones. I only read it in two days. I thought it was really funny. I enjoyed it alot! I hope who ever reads it enjoys it as much as i did!
